I have been doing extensive research into my family heritage for a number of years and have traced my more immediate ancestry back to East Friesland, Lower Saxony, Germany. I have had a couple STR DNA and a couple SNP DNA tests which tie our family heritage to SNP M223 Haplogroup I2b1. We have not however traced our family back to the tribal group to which we belong. I have set up this website to begin to do that for all Haplogroup I2b1 individuals.

I know some sources identify DYS390=23 with Norse Viking and some with Anglo-Saxon Visigoth.

Using the Family Tree DNA YSearch database, I find Haplogroup I2b1 & subclade individuals in Armenia, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Sicily, Spain, Ukraine, USA.
